weekend, with lots of you gaining top 20 places. Fantastic!

tally of medals following the Grades competitions in March. Not only did we
return home with lots of medals but all our Flames
gymnasts passed their grades:

Regional In Age and Out of Age Competitions
from the 29th and 30th September.
In Age Level 4 -
Kate Kelly cleared the board and won this competition by 1.40 marks
scoring 46.550 (Kate came 1st in 3 of the 4 pieces of apparatus -
well done!!); Emma Owen achieved 41.65 bringing her in at a
respectable 10th place. Shay-Anna Hines competed 'unattached' in the
competition, having only recently moved to Flames from another local
Club, Shay scored 39.75 (1st on vault). Kate will now be leading out
the Regional Team at the National Finals in Guildford on 3rd
November
In Age Level 3 -
Lauren Hudders came 4th with 46.175 (2nd place on bars); Lauren
Weston came 6th with 44.175 (2nd on vault; 3rd on bars); Sophie (Whizz)
Ward came 8th with 41.925 (3rd highest score on bars). Lauren
Hudders will now be competing in the Regional Team at the National
Finals in Guildford on 3rd / 4th November, and Lauren Weston is
reserve for this team.
In Age Level 2 -
Emma Elton came 4th with a score of 42.55 (2nd on vault and 3rd
highest on bars).
Out of Age Level 4 (10/11
years) - Tori Pybus came 4th with a score of 45.184 (there
was just 1.13 between 1st and 4th place!) Tori was 2nd on vault.
Out of Age Level 4 (12+)
- Danni Hardwick scored 43.166 and came 4th (2nd on beam), only 0.34
behind bronze!
Out of Age Level 3 (11/12
years) - Lara stormed this competition with a massive winning
score of 49.342 (there was just under 4 whole marks between 1st and
2nd place!!!). Lara came 1st on 3 pieces, and 2nd on the remaining
piece!. Beth Smith came 5th with 44.14 (3rd on bars), only 0.6 off
3rd place.
Out of Age Level 3 (13+
years) - Angharad Wintle came in 9th with 41.766, with only
1.6 marks away from medal positions.
Out of Age Level 2 (12/13
years) - Rebecca Cook came 6th with 43.50, her best position
was 5th on beam.
FIG Junior - Emily
Mole came 4th with 42.90 (3rd on vault); Caroline Curry came 5th
with 41.350 (3rd on floor); Gabbi Cook came 6th with 38.75
FIG Espoires -
Khal Plummer came 4th with 41.20 (3rd on vault)

Regional Team Apparatus Competition on
Sunday September 9th.
Flames gymnasts did brilliantly .... yet again! We
took GOLD!!!
in the FIG competition and SILVER!!!
in the Level 3 competition. Our Level 4 team came in 5th. We also
hosted the competition, and raised lots of money to go towards
buying some more mats for the gym. A BIG BIG thank you to all the
Mums, Dads, Neighbours, gymnasts, sisters, brothers, friends and
coaches who helped us to set up the gym, host the competition and
then put the kit away at the end.
Our next competition is the
Regional Championships for FIG, Level 2,3 and 4 gymnasts this
weekend ... 29th and 30th September at the Sports Centre,
Highgate - Hope to see you there!!!!!
