This page is all about our fundraising efforts and what we
have spent the fund-raised money on.
Fundraising 2011
So far this year we have bought lots of new mats to
replace the very worn out safety mats ... but we still need more, so as we
go through the year, the details of our fundraising will be listed here:
Compulsory Grades National Finals
2011 - we hosted the Compulsory Grade 3 event at
Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre on the 1st May and raised a fantastic £161.
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts to raffle. This means over the
two weekends of hosting national finals we have raised a fantastic £377. The money will be
used to buy more new equipment for the gym.
Grades National Finals
2011 - we hosted the Grades 8 & 6 event at
Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre on 16th April and raised a fantastic £216.
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts to raffle. The money will be
used to buy more new equipment for the gym.
Red Nose Day 2011 -
we raised a fantastic £160 all of which has been
donated to RND charities - thank you to all of our gymnasts!
Fundraising 2010
Hosting the national grades finals in May gave us the
opportunity to raise funds for Flames by holding a raffle. Thanks to
the help of an amazing band of parents we managed to raise £340 which will
go towards the new equipment ordered a few weeks ago and due for delivery in
August. This, together with our new bar landing mat and the wonderful
new floor is helping us to keep Flames and the Munrow Centre as the
best place to do gymnastics (well in our view anyway!).
In June 2010 we held a raffle which only the parents of Baby
Gym and the club's recreational gymnasts could take part in, and the
enormous teddy was won by Maddie Kerr, one of our Wednesday evening
gymnasts. Well done Maddie! This raffle raised £46 which will be
added to other fund raised money to keep adding to the equipment available
to Flames gymnasts.
Christmas fundraising 2009
There's been a big gap since this page has
been updated, but the fundraising hasn't stopped! This week we have
raised nearly £500 through our annual raffles and our Christmas curry night.
Thank you everyone for all your support this year, and we look forward to
more excellent fundraising activities in 2010.
Christmas fundraising 2008
Thank you to everyone who supported our
fundraising efforts over the festive period, by bringing contributions to
prizes, events or in buying tickets.
Christmas Hamper Raffle raised £135,
congratulations to Alice Tinsley and family for winning the raffle.
Christmas Party raised approximately £300
and was a brilliant evening.
T-shirts and Hoodies - the sale of these
has raised approximately £150 (the final sales total has yet to be
calculated) and we all look brilliant in our new style Flames kit.
Fantastic idea, thanks Mum's!!! and thanks to Jamie Smith for arranging the
printing.
Beth's Christmas Cake raffle - thank you
Beth for making a Christmas Cake for our Circuit Challenge and Display day.
This raffle raised £38 and was won by Brogan Greenwood's family.
Brogan's Dad is a fireman and is going to take the cake to work with him on
Christmas Day for the Fire Officers to share - brilliant idea, to think
Beth's cake will help them get through what we hope with be a quiet shift.
Bonus Ball has raised its second £100 -
the Bonus Ball fundraising stopped over the Christmas period to allow us to
focus on specific fundraising efforts like the party and the hamper raffle.
We will re-start in the New Year, and hope that you will all give your
support to this.
Bonus Ball wins Flames its first £100!
- Flames has added a weekly 'Bonus Ball' competition to its fundraising
approaches. Each week, you are invited to pay £1 to decide which number the
Bonus Ball will be in the National Lottery. If your chosen number is the
Bonus Ball number you win some of the money from everyone else's guess, and
the remainder of the money is put towards the Flames fundraised money. Our
fist £100 is a real achievement, so a big thank you to the parents and
gymnasts who are getting amongst everyone to encourage them to take part.
Please join the fun, and good luck in your guessing the number of the ball!
Regional Championships Saturday 4th October
2008 - hosting this event meant that not only did we walk away with loads of
medals (see news page and comps page) but also with £112 from the raffle we
ran and also our hosting fee of £120. Thank
you to everyone involved in running the competition on behalf of Flames - as
always we did ourselves proud!
Metropolitan County Competition 5 July 2008 -
by co-hosting this event and by running a raffle, and with a generous
donation to our fundraising efforts, we raised £190 at this event - well
done to everyone involved!
3 May 08 - At National Finals we ran a raffle which raised
£65 towards our pot of money! Thank you to all the parents and gymnasts who
helped by contributing prizes and selling tickets on the day.
Since last summer we have raised over £2,000 (through
raffles, hosting competitions, and the 20 year party) and in the last few
weeks and months we have bought:
1 x lightweight foam spring board
1 x mini foam take off spring board (both for junior
gymnasts)
2 x safety (crash) mats
1 x 'splat' (5cm) landing mat
1 x beam pad
1 x red vault / coaching block
2 x coil spring boards
Thank you to everyone who has helped to raise all the money
towards the new equipment, and we hope you will continue to give us your
support throughout 2008.
